In 2018, amidst the bustling streets of Trinidad, the pulsating rhythm of Soca music ignited a transformative awakening. This vibrant celebration gave birth to SoFete, initially conceived to share the essence of Trinidad Carnival with the world through SoFete Fitness. This unique fitness regimen was designed to prepare both minds and bodies for the ultimate street party experience.

But the journey didn't end there. Transitioning from fitness enthusiasts to spirited party-goers, our clients evolved into fete comrades, paving the way for the emergence of SoFete Sorority. Comprised of fearless women devoted to Soca, revelry, and challenging societal norms, the sorority quickly became a formidable presence.

As the popularity of SoFete Sorority soared and our infectious energy became sought after, we encountered unexpected challenges. Inquiries about our island origins, generational identity, and accents prompted a shift from casual responses to a deeper acknowledgment of the importance of preserving and respecting cultural identity.

With SoFete Sorority attracting women from diverse backgrounds, our conversations naturally gravitated towards cultural identity, respect, and the avoidance of misappropriation. Recognizing the significance of safeguarding our shared experiences and traditions, we found ourselves at a crossroads, marking a paradigm shift for SoFete.

Transforming into a structured, non-profit powerhouse, SoFete expanded its mission beyond Carnival and Trinidad.
